Lighting Designer

Guys and Dolls,
Mainstage Center for the Arts, Summer 2009


As lighting designer for Guys and Dolls, I was in charge of designing, helping setup and program the lights for two weekends with different casts. The plot was the basis for the children's shows that took place in the morning during the same time. This included mostly conventional fixtures with a set of Wybron Color Scrollers from the front.

As lighting designer for Summer Stage, I was in charge of designing, helping setup and program the lights for four children's shows in the morning and one mainstage show in the evening. All these designs took plce within a seven week span with three weeks of prep and four weeks of back to back shows. All these shows used standard theatrical fixtures as well as a set of Wybron Color Scrollers. Disney Spectacular was the last children's show and comprised a medley of Disney favorites. It also used a projector and a screen in the shape of Mickey Mouse's Head that I helped set up the slides for.

Beauty and the Beast was the third children's show and also included Star Strobes (Curtain Strobes) for the transformation.

Willy Wonka Jr. was the second of the four children's shows and also included a bubble machine and a gobo rotator for the bubble room fan.

Intern Cabaret, Surflight Theatre, Summer 2008


As Lighting Designer for the Intern Cabaret, I used the Rep Plot and programmed/ran lights for a one night talent show. There were no cues, just conventional lights and 2 I-Cues. The show was run on an Express 250 and done entirely live off the submasters and a few focus points and effects.

The Wizard of Oz, Surflight Children's Theatre, Summer 2008


As Lighting Designer for The Wizard of Oz, I used the Rep Plot and programmed the conventional lights and 2 I-Cues to fit the show. Since this was Children's Theatre, I also ran the show and took photos at the same time. The show used the set and lights for Chicago which was the mainstage show at the time.
